About Me

Welcome! My name is April Reck and I am excited to start my first year at Hamblen Elementary as a Special Education Teacher. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Texas State University and will receive my Master's in May from Lesley University (Boston) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Drama Therapy. This will be my 15th year in Education.

I have a true passion for teaching students of all grade levels from high school to elementary. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development—academic, social, language, and motor—is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily.  I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment.

I have 3 beautiful daughters, 21, 13, and 12. We love to be creative, craft, and paint, we enjoy reading, cooking, music, traveling and exploring ancient ruins and historic sites, and spending time with friends and family.

This is going to be the best year yet!
