My name is Michael Chalfan. I am currently a social studies teacher and athletics coach at CHS. I am also a therapist. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) With a double major in Multiplatform Journalism and Communication Studies and in 2023, I graduated from Lamar University with a Masters in Counseling (M.Ed.) Upon graduating from Sam Houston, I went into the sports journalism field for the next 2 years. I decided to make a conscious effort to change my career path by becoming a high school educator and coach. I opted to become an educator because I have worked with numerous age groups of children in various settings while in college. I worked with children as a caretaker, mentor, martial arts coach, and sports coach. I am also a therapist/counselor in the state of Texas.
