The Channelview ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven members who are elected by position. The general election of board members shall be on the November uniform election date, which is the first Tuesday after the first Monday, Tex. Elec. Code §41/001(a), at Harris County approved voting locations.

Board members are elected to four-year terms, with elections conducted biennially, as follows, Positions 1, 2, and 3 shall be held in 2024, 2028 and in four-year intervals thereafter. The election for Positions 4, 5, 6, and 7 shall be held in 2026, 2030 and in four-year intervals thereafter. To be elected, a candidate must receive a majority of the votes cast for the position.

The first day to file an application, CISD Trustee Candidate Application,  for a place on the ballot in a school district’s general election is the 30th day before the filing deadline. The filing deadline for a general election is 5 p.m. on the 78th day before election day. Tex. Educ. Code § 11.055(a); Tex. Elec. Code § 144.005. The deadline to file a declaration of write-in candidacy is 5 p.m. on the 74th day before election day.

Mandatory Office Hours for Election Duties from September 13, 2024 - December 13, 2024 are 9am-12pm on regular business days in which the school district's main office is regularly open for business.

The Channelview Independent School District will be holding a Trustee election on November 5, 2024, for positions 1, 2 and 3.   
The first day for candidates to file for a place on the ballot is July 20, 2024. The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is August 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The Last Day to File a Declaration of Write-in Candidacy is Monday, August 19, 2024. Early voting begins Tuesday, October 21, 2024 through Friday, November 1, 2024. Election Day is November 5, 2024.
Beginning July 20, 2024; interested candidates may request a candidate booklet from the Office of the Superintendent or District Tax Office and file for a place on the ballot, Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Please note that the district will be on summer hours during this time, and the building will be closed on Friday, July 26. The district resumes normal business hours Monday through Friday, beginning August 1, 2024.
