Channelview Advanced Academic Program (CAAP) Math is an advanced math class where students will learn sixth and some seventh-grade math concepts. The curriculum emphasizes reasoning, problem solving, communication skills, number relationships, number theory, as well as patterns, functions and algebraic concepts. Students work with all types of numbers and operations, including fractions decimals, integers, exponents, ratios, rates and averages. They will also work extensively with percent and geometry formulas. Throughout the course, students investigate everyday situations that involve mathematical principles.
