Hi! I am Jeri Collins and this is my 32nd year teaching band and my 25th year in Channelview. I love being a Band Director, especially at the beginning level, because of all the "Aha!" moments. My major instrument is Percusion but I have taught all band instruments. 

I am a proud Navy Brat! My dad was in the Navy and we moved around a lot as I was growing up. I even lived in Japan when he was stationed there while I was in middle school. It was amazing!

I have my Bachelors of Music from Texas A&I University which is now Texas A&M - Kingsville where I graduated Summa cum Laude. It's a great school for many fields but especially if you're interested in teaching. 

I have my Masters of Education from Lamar University and I have my Principal Certification as well.

Outside of school I "do" scouts. All 4 of my children have been in scouting and my brother is an Eagle Scout. I also enjoy reading books in various genre - sci-fi and mystery are my favorites though. I listen to all types of music and love movies. My latest stress relief is scrapbooking and playing a mobile war game. Do you game?
